Second verse same as the first???

Commenting about the nation of Israel's plight in the book of Judges author Gary Phillips makes this comment. 

"Israel’s apostasy had nothing to do with geography, politics, or economy. In a nutshell, it was this: Israel forgot God."

[Emphasis added by me]. 

So do you think the same is true for America? Or not?

    I think it's a little different because America was never identified by God as His chosen people. However, anytime a person or nation rejects the eternal reality of God and His absolute truths it is going to get ugly.

    Ok, my eye twitches, too. And this question is making it twitch. I do like these types of questions, though, because they always reveal that I'm not as well read as I would like to be. So, thank you for the motivation. I'll have to "get back to ya" on my answer...
