Too Much

|

Why do I seem to schedule everything all at once?

Thursday (June 23)
Man Night. Me, Clay, and a couple of the guy students decided to have us a man night. So we cooked steaks, played with snakes (for real), did donuts in the pasture with a truck, and the best of all watched Braveheart on a 105" screen complete with Bose surround sound. (It was better than the old Lufkin Theater). One of my students has this cinema room in his upstairs. It has stadium seating except with couches and those super-large bean bags. Its ok for a group of guys but I try to avoid having mixed company there. Stayed up till 2:30am.

Friday-Saturday (June 24-25)
Left at 11:00 for Meridian State Park. Took the Seniors camping. We had fun and got to play a lot of fun "Survivor" type games with them. I also found a new interest... kayaking! Yep, I've long wondered in secret if I would enjoy those floating instruments and even if I could stay afloat in one. Well, I do and I can. Granted... I was not going down a raging river or anything, just a small very calm lake. But, none the less, I loved it. So now all I need is about $600 for all the gear. Any takers? Didn't sleep too well. Ok, not at all Friday night.

Got home Saturday night and Jonathan and the gang showed up. Got them all situated and crashed.

Sunday (June 25)
Jonathan and Natalie played in both services this morning. Then after church we went to Migelito's for lunch. Headed back to the church to set up. It was fun to hang out with everyone again. Brandon came to run sound for them. The concert tonight was amazing. Not living in Lufkin anymore this was my first chance to hear all of them. Wow. I was super-impressed. I mean I knew they were good but hearing them live was refreshing. (Thanks you all, our church was blessed!). Got to see some other friends as well. John & Gina Martin came to see Jonathan, Lana Havard dropped by, plus it was good to see Jansen & Stewart.

Immediately after the concert I had a Canada meeting (we leave in like 3 weeks). I have a lot to get together.

So anyway, I am just about tired. I remember Lance and Jason staying home on Monday after a busy weekend... now I know why.

I like kayaking as well. My team leader at school has 4 and invites us. I went once and really enjoyed it. However, when I first got in, I started heading toward the dam. They kept telling me to turn around but I didn't know how. One of my coworkers came to the rescue and taught me the ropes. It was a little scary at first, but fun once I got the hang of it.

I like how quiet you can be. You are able to see lots of different animals.
