I've been crazy busy this week. It all started about Friday of last week. I had to do my homewprk for Greek class. I soon realized that I was clueless. It was as if I had forgotten everything from the first year. So Monday rolled around and that was the final straw. I was in class from 8-11, then at 11 I went to Greek tutoring for an hour, then at 12 I went to class again and should have been there until 3 but half way through decided to skip and go study more Greek in the library. So around 3 I decided that I was being swallowed by a giant monster. I still had two classes to 3-6 and then 6-9. (If you were doing the math, that means I was in class straight from 8 am until 9 at night with no breaks!).
During my study time in the library I had a thought, "Is it too late to drop a class?" Not Greek of course cause if I waited to take it I'd be in worse shape then I was then. So which one? Not The Christian Ministry cause that is very doable and a generally fun class. I had already done so much work in Systematic Theology to drop it. So that left Old Testament I. Since I really didn't like the prof anyway and I was not learning anything in there, and I hadn't read much at all (which could have been why I was not learning anything).
I decided to drop the OT class. That now gives me 9 hours (instead of 12) and a much needed break during class on Monday to (study more Greek). I would have liked to get another class behind me but my family, job, and sanity were not worth 3 hours.
So am I care-free now with lots of time? Heck no! Since I dropped that class it has given me more time to study Greek (and subquently more time to learn just how much I don't know about it) so I essentially dropped 3 hours of class and gained another 15 hours of study time.
To all who are masters of the Greek language... I salute you! To all who are not... buy a software program that does it for you (learning it is a bear!)
