Didn't read the second one. It is kinda' funny, though. Here's this book that says, "Be a man. An adventurer. Explore your faith and life, blah blah blah"
Then...
"Oh, and here's a handy-dandy roadmap to make sure you don't forge your way on your own. 'Cause that would be crazy!"
Course, I didn't read the second one. I could be way off.
I thought Wild At Heart was a wake up call for all men! This one however is a little too sequel for me. No doubt Eldredge has a niche market here but every paragraph begins with a story like: "One day when I was scuba diving off the Bering Strait after having beat down a Humpback whale and just prior to rock climbing the flattened cliffs of the Snake River..."
I mean come on... we know your like Mr. Eagle Scout John. But how does the normal man teach his son how to be a man, love his wife, his church, and his world in the everyday commonalities (fixing a flat, painting the house, killing a spider, mowing the grass?)
Every now and then his passion seems to be more getting men to love the outdoors than to love their families. I’m not disrespecting the man… he’s a genius and is on to something great, he just should have left it alone with Wild At Heart.

I always thought the guy on the cover of the first book should be jumping in the opposite direction. That would really be wild at heart!
