I love/hate May. Here's why. It's the month where we honor ALL of the mission organizations and groups within the church. While I feel this is something necessary and even somewhat empowering I just hate that it is all the same month. Each group takes up about 15 minutes of the service on Sunday morning. By the end of the month I've had enough.
We start early on with the peripheral Boy Scouts (honestly I don't know why we recognize them). We then jump to the Young boys and girls with Royal Ambassadors (RA's) and Girls in Action (GA's). From there we move on to the older girls (Acteens) and boys (Challengers). To cap it all off we close out the month with a big hoedown for our graduating seniors.
Like I said, I think it needs to be done but I can't wait until we start worshipping God again.
