I pride myself on being able to remember stuff. For example I am a very slow reader, however I can usually remember with great clarity most of what I have ever read, what book it was from, who wrote it, what the page looked like, and where on the page it was written. I can remember useless trivia, keep it in storage for years, and then pull it out at a moments notice. I really believe I've got about a 40% photographic memory. I'm not bragging here. Sometimes I wish I didn't.
However I've recently discovered... all this memory power is always (historical memory). What I mean is that while I can remember past events, I can't seem to remember things that have yet to happen. That doesn't make sense I know so let me explain. One area that I can never seem to remember is "My To Do List". If I don't write down what I need to do in the future I will forget it 95% of the time. So usually what my evenings consist of is emailing myself ToDo lists so that when I get to the office the next day... Poof, there they are. I also utilize notepads and dry erase markers along with my bathroom mirror quite regularly.
Is this normal? Do you do this also? Am I a freak of nature?

I can remember my to do list. But I can't remember what I read in a book. If I re-read the book I'm like o ya I remember that. But, I have a very hard time recalling it from memory. So, my love muffin you are not a freak. We are all different. If you think about it, we make a great team. I'll let you read my books and you can tell me your to do list.
