I've had both. The natural sound is probably better in the second pair. They seem to pick up the bass a little better.
But, the first pair (which I use now) is so much more comfortable and cancels out the surrounding sound a lot better. The sound is pretty good out of those with the bass turned up on your iPod.

I've used both and let me tell you, if you get 2 you'll regret it. 2 ALWAYS made my ears ache. Not like man these are uncomfortable, it was always, man, my ears are in pain.
1 includes multiple sleeves for different size ears, and I think the sound in 1 is better.
Get some cans, man.
number 2... for sure...
#1, I have some like #2 and they aren't all that comfortable.
