Woke up to Levi screaming "THAT." This is my typical Saturday morning wakeup call. Usually he sees something that he really does not need but insists that life would be better for everyone if he in fact had it.
Hung around the house, watched Elf (one of the best Christmas movies ever). FedEx came around lunch and delivered my surprize b-day gift (see post below). Went and hung said gift in my office. Around 1pm Shelly went over to the church to record her vocals for this weekend's Christmas program. Shelly, Ashlin, & I are supposed to be a German family celebrating Christmas in the program. We have costumes and everything. Shane our music minister thought it would be a better idea to pre-record my guitar and Shelly's vocals to avoid having to deal with mics and things during the actual performance. She's actually singing Silent Night in German! And I'm actually playing the song in German as well. It took me a little while to figure out how to transpose the song into a different language but I finally figured it out. It's really hard to play a German song on an American guitar. But luckily Martin makes bilingual instruments.
Anyway, Around 3pm Kaity came over to watch the kiddos and we head (along with two other couples) to Abuelo's (yummy) and then on to Starbucks. Later it was on to see a concert...
wow, Wow, WOW... This show was just incredible. If you've heard the CD then you know what it probably sounded like. If you have not then you should repent from your slothfulness. Every once in a while you find music that just speaks your language. This is it. I don't know Andrew Peterson, Sara Groves, Andrew Gullahorn, Bebo Norman, Andrew Osenga, Jill Phillips, or Ben Shives personally, so I don't know if they are cool, smart, jerks, or even if they bath on a regular basis.
But I do know this much, if Christian radio played that kind of music, then I'd listen to it.
Thanks Todd for turning me on to these folks! Sorry you guys couldn't come with us.
Now it's off to bed and tomorrow Shelly and I will be performing our Milli Vanilli German act 3 times and once again on Monday night.

Clear Lake UMC hosted Andrew Peterson's Behold the Lamb last year. It is a great show and I agree with your statement about radio play.
I love Sara Groves. About 4 years ago, Danielle Beck introduced me to her music. Her lyrics are so honest and her songs are always different from the norm.
