Yesterday after church we were packing the kiddos into the van and getting ready to take my mom and dad out to lunch. They had come up to watch the kids all weekend while Shelly and I went to a conference with our Youth Workers. It was a great weekend (more on that later).
Anyway, as we get in the car I hear the sound of a rushing wind. Knowing Pentecost had already occurred I knew it could only be one other option. Air Force Fighter Jets. Several of them swoop right over the top of our house. I'm not talking about several thousand feet in the air either. They were close. I noticed one pilot was chewing on a toothpick and forgot to shave that morning. (Ok they were not that close but it was close).

I quickly assumed they were making a turn around from doing a "flyby" on the Texas Motor Speedway since it was NASCAR weekend. They did this twice and it was very cool all in all.
However when I looked over at my dad all he said was, "They're just checking in on me."
I laughed.
