See Ya 2009

|

I'm not going to lie folks I didn't like 2009. Sure it had good times (seminary graduation, memorable trips and events with the family, seeing lives changed through Christ). But honestly there were other things that I'd just as soon not live again. Those of you in ministry will understand what I'm talking about. Every so often you have one of those periods of time where ministry is just plain hard. It's down-right ugly, mean, messy and makes you want to bail. And you probably would if it weren't for God's unwavering grace and the Spirit's intimate calling into your life.

There are those years that life loses a little of its shine. You discover things you don't want to discover. You learn things you don't want to learn. You learn them about others and you learn them about yourself. It takes a while for you to see clearly again. Maybe it was because of arrogance, maybe it was because of pride, or maybe it was being counted worthy enough to endure such suffering and trials. Only God knows. Either way... it was hard.

I'm ready for 2010.

Brighter days... Spring is coming!

I agree too. If nothing else, 2009 just seemed like it sucked the life out of people.
