I went to the High School today to visit the students during lunch. Did you know that Sanger High School now sells Turkey Legs? I'm talking the kind you get at the county fair. I looked around for the funnel cakes and cotton candy but to no avail.
That seems really strange. I never knew those were available anywhere but at fairs and holiday dinners. I wonder if they're a popular menu item? Did you see very many kids at the lunch tables gnawing on them?
In the past, much of what was served in school cafeterias was related to what kinds of surplus foods the government had on hand. I am not sure how this works. Turkey legs seem more desirable to me than the thick slices of balogana, cook to curl up with a scoop of mashed potatoes and gravy that our cafeteria called "Potato Boats."
