My Friday

1) Started the day off right with Claire seeing a miniature tarantula and without even thinking about walk over and stepped on it. This was after Ashlin saw it and ran 4 miles down the road to avoid it. Go Claire!

2) We took to the Lake today. We brought our bikes and some hot dogs. We roasted hot dogs, made smores, and had a great time. Other than the fact that Ashlin spilled ice water all over her pants, Levi & Claire kept rubbing their hands all in the soot of the grill, forgetting to bring any matches and then having to drive 1/2 way way back to town and spend $5 on a lighter, the MatchLight charcoal we had was too old and would not light so we had to default back to a Coleman stove. When we first got there we thought it would be a good idea to find an unused camping area and use their table and stuff. Well we get all set up and some guys pull up who had rented that camping area. So we left and went to the 'public' area. I felt like I had broken the law or something.

Got home around 1pm and Ashlin went to a friends house. We invited another friend to come over and play with Claire. I went to the office for a couple of hours to study for my exam on Monday. Ashlin returned home around 5:30pm and we settled in to eat dinner. Ashlin has been saying that she wants to eat an entire can of Spinach (she loves spinach). Well we gave her a whole can and...

I'm tired so maybe tonight Shelly and I can just relax and enjoy the quiet.... HA! Yeah right.

My Friday (on a Saturday)

Woke up and hung around the house for a bit. Met Sean at the church at 9am to practice for the show that night. We practiced until 10:30 or so and then I went home. Ashlin and Claire had gone to a friend's house so Shelly, Levi, Carley, and I went out for lunch to On The Border in Denton. After lunch Shelly took Carley to do some shopping and Levi and I headed to Guitar Center in Lewisville for a few items (Djembe stand, new capo, and new screen for a beat up SM58).

Got back to Sanger around 1:45, laid Levi down. Tried the new capo out (Dunlop's Trigger capo... very nice). Shelly picked up Ashlin & Claire and they got home around 2:15. Took a short nap. Then back up to hang with the kids.

Met Sean at the church again around 5pm to load up and head to the Roasted Bean. Set up equipment and started the show around 6 or so. The crowd was good but not as good as we'd hoped. I didn't care that people come see us, I just wanted a bunch of people to show up to support the coffee house. I don't want them to go under or anything! That is my office away from office!

Wrapped up the show around 8pm., loaded the gear up and headed home. 4 college students came over and we chatted until 12:45am. Hit the bed hard...

My Friday

Joining in this guy's wacky world...

Woke up around 7 cause Levi was up. I put him on the couch and laid down beside him. That lasted all of 15 seconds. He was up and the girls had woken up as well. Shelly got up and decided to make breakfast (a rarity these days due to the multiple feedings during the night). Eggs, sausage, and biscuits... yum!

I got in trouble after breakfast for not cleaning the kitchen... i made up for it by making our bed, the girls' bed, and getting all four kids dressed.

We headed to Denton around 10 am and Shelly ran in to Sears to take back some shoes. Then off to Wal-Mart and Target to spend some gift cards. However we realized that we had left the gift cards at home. Back to Sanger for gift cards. Then back to Denton but not before a stop at Chic-Fil-A! Then on to Target. Bought some games (old school Connect 4 & Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader DVD edition). Which I thought it was funny that on the box of the game "Are You Smarter..." was this statement, "This game does not include TV or DVD player."

Then to Wal-Mart for a new DVD player. Not because of the game, but because ours had broke a few weeks ago and we've been limping on a portable one since. When you have 4 kids a DVD player is pretty much a necessity. After Wal-Mart we went to Lowes for some special high-dollar light bulbs that you can only find there apparently. Dropped by and gave my buddy Ryan a Diet Mountain Dew at Payless Shoe Store.

Back to Sanger for a little down time which did not end up being down time. Hooked up the new DVD player and tested it by watching James Taylor's Pull Over DVD, schooled Ashlin & Claire at Connect 4 and then Bobby and Julie came over.

Ordered Pizza from a new Pizza place in town "Joe's Pizza." Original I know. But it was very good. Played outside with the kids. Bathed the kids, Bobby beat me at Connect 4 (2 out of 3). We put the kids in bed around 8pm. Bobby and I went to DQ for some Blizzards and came back to see who really was Smarter than a 5th Grader.
