The 13-kilometer Confederation Bridge, the world's longest bridge spanning ice covered waters, opens between Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick, Canada. {this is useless information I know... now on to the important stuff}.
That is also the day I married the love of my life. Wow, beauty, passion, love, laughter, gentleness, and super-fun times.
It's going by too fast but, here is to 12 years, 4 kids, and a million memories. I love you, I love you, I love you. Happy anniversary Shelly.
We were having a revival at our church and one night I saw a girl I knew who was in the 8th grade named Candice. Candice had brought a friend that night and introduced her to me. It was Shelly. Again, I thought, "Cute girl!" Fast forward to the Fall of 1991. We were in Coldsprings, TX and I was playing a football game. During the 4th quarter I broke my right ankle. I was in much pain on the sideline but managed to flirt with this cute, Freshman cheerleader... Shelly. Within two weeks we were 'talking' or whatever it's called today. I asked her to the homecoming dance and she agreed.
16+ years later...
I am married to the most amazing woman ever. She is still just as cute and lovely to me as that first day I met her. I am amazed that after 16 years I still am learning things about her. She works harder than any other person I know. She keeps a perfect house and is an incredible mom to our 3 (almost 4) children. She is an incredible wife, lover, and best friend. I've seen her handle life with determination and purpose that would humble the hardest of hearts. She is a better person than I am and because of that she makes me what I am today.
Happy 11th Anniversary to you Shell. Many daughters have done nobly... but you exceed them all!
Here's to the best 11 years I could have ever hoped for or dreamed of.
I Love You,
Robert
